I’ve never learned more working on a project than I did working on Graphics Grrrl. There were several features I’d never coded before, which was a perfect way for me to learn new skills and be confident in new fun features in future projects!
Graphics Grrrl did her own design and having 20+ years in the design industry and being dedicated to have a strategically designed blog definitely shows in what she created. My favorite strategic features are the header section, which is different on each page, the layout of her homepage, and the full-width click-to-tweet sections in her blog posts! We did get to work together to talk strategy and make some tweaks on the main Blog page and I love how it turned out.
The files I got were amazingly well organized. Labeled nicely and sorted into the correct folders. We had a few back and forth emails about things I didn’t have right away or terminology I didn’t understand, but that was a perfect opportunity for me to improve the documentation I sent to designers before the beginning of a project!
The trickiest part of this project was the full-width graphic sections. It took us a few tries to make everything look nice on large desktop computers and mobile devices, but we got it and the affects are so fun!
